Fairness and respect for all

Do you feel as if you’ve been treated unfairly? Or don’t know how to approach an issue such as academic misconduct, appeals or complaints about faculty and staff? The Office of the Ombudsperson is here to ensure that everyone involved in a dispute is treated fairly and that decisions affecting students are made without unreasonable delay.

What is an ombudsperson?

Here at Dzʿ, the “ombudsperson” is an independent, impartial professional who hears complaints about procedures and policies. We listen to you and answer your questions or help you find someone who can. We provide you with a source of information about policies, rights and avenues of redress.

Ombudspersons have been around for more than 2,000 years, but the word itself comes from Swedish parliament and was first used in 1809. Dzʿ has had an Ombudsperson for over 25 years.
